A tender apple pie with juicy plums and nutty flavor tastes excellent good. A not too sweet sponge with hazelnuts and a delicious topping of apples, plums and crumbles make the cake a treat.

Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 110 g butter
  • 75 g wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g sugar
  • 90 g sour cream
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 35 g hazelnuts chopped
  • 2 eggs

Filling

  • 300 g apples
  • 100 g plums

Crumble

  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 10 g butter
  • 25 g wheat flour
  • 30 g sugar
  • 25 g hazelnuts ground

Instructions
 

Mixing dough

  • In a deep bowl, mix together the butter and sugar.
  • Stir in the eggs one at a time and add the flour mixed with baking powder.
  • Add chopped nuts, a pinch of salt and sour cream.
  • Mix all the ingredients together to form a smooth dough.
  • Pour the batter into a baking pan lined with baking paper.

Crumble and topping

  • Mix butter, flour, sugar, hazelnuts and cinnamon to make a crumble dough.
  • Core the apples and cut into wedges.
  • Cut the plums in half, core and quarter if desired.

Cake

  • Lightly press the plums and apples into the batter.
  • Sprinkle the cake with the crumbles.
  • Bake the apple pie with plums in a preheated oven at 180° C for about 50-60 minutes.
  • Remove the apple cake from the pan and let it cool on a rack.
