Hot dogs are one of the best American fast food. In its composition, the hot dog is very simple and yet super delicious. In this recipe, the classic hot dog is complemented with caramelized onions, which give it a spicy, aromatic flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 30 g butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 onions
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 100 ml apple cider dry
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 hot dog sausages
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Instructions
 

  • Peel the onions and cut into half rings.
  • Lightly grind with a pinch of salt with your hands.
  • Heat butter and vegetable oil in a frying pan on medium heat.
  • Caramelize the onions in it for about 25-30 minutes.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • Deglaze with apple cider.
  • Simmer for another 10 minutes until the wine has completely evaporated.
  • Take the pan off the heat.
  • Mix onions with vinegar and sugar.
  • Cook the hot dog sausages in hot water in a saucepan for about 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cut the hot dog buns lengthwise, but not all the way to the end.
  • Remove the sausages from the water.
  • Let them dry on a plate.
  • In a small bowl, mix the mustard with the mayonnaise for the dip.
  • Place one sausage in each bun.
  • Top the hot dogs with the dip.
  • Sprinkle with caramelized onions and enjoy.
