Hearty, appetizing and delicious pea soup with chicken meat. Rosemary, garlic and dill give the soup a special aroma and with potatoes, carrots and celery it tastes very nutritious and super delicious.

  • 200 g peas
  • 4 chicken legs
  • 1-2 carrots
  • 2 celery
  • 1 onion
  • 2-3 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp rosemary dry
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 800 ml chicken broth or water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3-5 potatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3-5 stalks dill


  • Soak peas in water for 1-2 hours, then rinse.
  • Remove chicken legs from bones and cut into medium sized pieces.
  • Cut carrots and celery into not too coarse pieces.
  • Finely dice the onion.
  • Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Sauté the chicken for 10 minutes.
  • Add carrots, onions, rosemary, salt and pepper.
  • Cook another 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add broth or water to the pot, add the peas and bay leaf.
  • Simmer the soup over low heat for about 20 minutes.
  • Cut the potatoes into medium sized pieces and add to the pot.
  • Let the pea soup simmer for another 20 minutes.
  • Add chopped garlic and dill to the pea soup 5 minutes before it is done cooking.
