A hearty pasta casserole that's great made in the oven with béchamel sauce and cheese. The casserole is a wonderful use of leftovers, which can be super spiced up with vegetables or sausage and made quickly.

  • 500 g pasta
  • Salt to taste
  • 60 g butter
  • 30 g flour
  • 500 ml milk
  • 150 g cheese
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 150 g sausage or bacon
  • 1 tablespoon oil


  • Cook the pasta in lightly salted water for about 7 - 10 minutes and drain.
  • In a frying pan, heat the butter over medium heat.
  • Mix in the flour and make a roux.
  • Remove from heat and combine with half of the milk to form a homogeneous mass.
  • Add the rest of the milk and stir again.
  • Return the pan to the heat and cook until the béchamel sauce thickens slightly, about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in grated cheese, season with salt and pepper.
  • Cut the sausage or bacon into small pieces.
  • Mix with pasta and sauce.
  • Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and put the pasta in it.
  • Bake the pasta casserole at 180° C for about 20 - 25 minutes.
