Advent season is perfect for baking! Sweet Santa Claus cookies made from a simple dough, prepared with heart cookie cutter and decorated with fondant and icing.

Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 200 g butter soft
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 4 drops butter-vanilla flavoring
  • 300 g flour

Decorate

  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1-2 squirts lemon juice
  • 20 g fondant red
  • Sugar stick black
  • Sugar stick red
  • 1 tsp coconut flakes

Instructions
 

Prepare the dough

  • Put butter, powdered sugar, egg yolk and butter vanilla flavoring in a glass bowl.
  • Sift in flour and knead everything into a smooth dough.
  • Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough and cut out with a heart cookie cutter.
  • Place the cookies on a tray with baking paper.
  • Bake the Christmas cookies in the oven at 180 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
  • Let the cookies cool down.

For decorating

  • Mix powdered sugar with egg white and lemon juice to make frosting.
  • Paint Santa's white beard and the brim of his hat.
  • If desired, decorate the beard with shredded coconut.
  • Roll out red fondant thinly and cut out a hat shape.
  • Place the red hat on Santa's head.
  • Dot a cap pom-pom with the icing.
  • Decorate the eyes and nose with sugar sticks.
  • Let the icing set and place the Christmas cookies in a cookie jar.
