This pumpkin jam is a great way to preserve the autumn fruits for winter. The jam is thick and has an interesting citrus flavor. With orange and lemons, the jam has a wonderful aroma and when filled in jars it can be enjoyed for a long time.

  • 500 g pumpkin peeled
  • 500 g quinces peeled
  • 900 g sugar
  • ½ orange
  • ½ lemon


  • Grind pumpkin in a food processor or put through a meat grinder.
  • Remove core of quince and cut fruit into small pieces.
  • Place in a large bowl, cover with sugar and let stand for about 8 hours.
  • Grate the peel from the citrus fruit and then peel the fruit.
  • If the citrus fruits have a thick white skin, it should be removed because of the slightly bitter taste.
  • Cut the citrus fruit into small pieces.
  • Place quince in a saucepan.
  • Add pumpkin, orange and lemon, mix well.
  • Bring the jam to a boil.
  • Add citrus zest and simmer, stirring, for 40-50 minutes.
  • Then remove from heat, transfer to sterilized jars and seal tightly.
  • Turn jars upside down, cover and let cool.
  • Store pumpkin jam in a cool place.


If the lemon has a thin white skin under the rind, it can be left on.
